Welcome to the Sicalo Lab

The Sicalo Lab investigates ruminant parasitology and anthelmintic (drug) resistance, integrating field parasitology with phenotypic and genetic approaches to support sustainable parasite control.

We study how genetic variation, parasite biology, and management practices interact to shape treatment outcomes in cattle, sheep, and other hosts — combining field-derived samples, phenotypic drug-response data, and genomic information through collaborative, interdisciplinary research.

The lab is led by Leonor Sicalo Gianechini, Assistant Professor at the University of Georgia (Google Scholar).
